Progress at the Park.
Skeletal structure of the new Memorial Park pedestrian shelters
Although this framework looks quite interesting, I think it is due to be covered over, top and bottom.
So enjoy it while it lasts.
Also being erected over the last few weeks, is the Australian war memorial. First up is the steel centre poles – with wiring and stone over cladding to come.
and finally – high quality basalt paving is underway to the main marching square in front of the Memorial. Ascending bollards installed, endless traffic management to Massey entrance (will that be done away with once Massey leave the old Museum front hall, and it returns to being a proper military museum?).
Yeah the roofs look cool, hopefully once they’ve been clad they will look even better. The Australian Memorial is looking decidedly un-Australian so far – no brashness evident yet. The red colour should look cool though, hopefully at night it will look impressive.
